RESEARCH ASSISTANCE IN ISABELLA COUNTY
We currently share requests for information and lookups with the society each month to see if anyone recognizes a name and would like to see if they can answer the request. We do not have a set fee schedule for such requests but it is a nice gesture to join the society if you receive assistance. You improve your chance of success if you follow a few simple guidelines.
1. Keep your request to one or two specific items or names. Too many names will overwhelm the researcher and spread the volunteer time over too many sources.
2. Provide as much information as possible to assist the researcher. If possible please include information such as your sources for the information you provide or a family tree for the individual
3. Provide contact information that will help your cause. An Email address or phone number will allow the researchers questions to be quickly answered.
Remember that these types of inquiries are taken on a volunteer basis by members of the society. While many members are dedicated genealogists and very familiar with the resources of Isabella County, MI we are working as time is available.
If you require more extensive or immediate research in
Isabella County, MI please contact us and we will try to find a researcher to
work with you on a fee basis. All arrangements of this nature are strictly
between you and your researcher and not associated with the Genealogical Society
of Isabella County.
