FLANSBURG MEET IS BIG SUCCESS

118 Attended Reunion Held This Year at Island Park

A reunion of the descendants of Sylvester and Lydia Flansburg was held at

Island Park August 16th.

There were present at the gathering 118, of this number only seven were not

connected with the family. At noon the table was spread with a very

bountiful dinner, after which the time was spent in visiting [and electing]

officers for the ensuing year.

Officers named are: A. W. Flansburg of Alma president; Mrs. Lydia Recker,

secretary-treasurer; program committee, Mrs. Ethel Caszatt, Mrs. Katie

Dowling, Mrs. Eva Grovenburg, Mrs. Mabel Flansburg, Mrs. Ada Shattuck and

Mrs. Fern Shattuck.

It was decided by a good vote to hold the next reunion at Island Park on

the first Sunday of August 1926, and to make this an annual affair. A rising

vote of thanks was given Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Caszatt for being instrumental

in starting this reunion.

P. Caszatt of Shepherd; Charles Flansburg of Forest Hill; Mr. and Mrs.

Arthur Crummel and family of Battle Creek; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Flansburg and

family of Alma; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bowers and family of Rosebush; Mr. and

Mrs. Ruben Bowers and family of Deerfield Center; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Baker

and children of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Caszatt and family; Mr. And

Mrs. Claude Dowling and family and Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Recker and family,

all of Shepherd; Mr. And Mrs. M. 0. Shattuck and family; Mr. and Mrs. Fred

Shattuck and son of Shepherd and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Shattuck and family of

Forest Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shattuck and Dale Shattuck of Lansing; Mr.

And Mrs. Bert Grovenburg and sons; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crummel; Mr. And Mrs.

Guy Crummel and family; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Goolsby and daughter; Mr. and

Mrs. Dewey Crummel and son, all of Kalamazoo; Mr. And Mrs. Wm. Behrend and

son of Mt. Pleasant; Vestie Caszatt of Shepherd and Mr. and Mrs. Garland

Flansburg of Alma; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones of Mt. Pleasant. Visitors were

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Van Sue and sons of Lansing; Miss Naomi Kane of Battle

Creek; George Shattuck Sr., of Shepherd, and an aunt of Mrs. Ernest Shattuck

of Forest Hill.
