ROSES FOR THE LIVING

                                                              Charles Blesch

For our “Roses for the Living” this week we go to the northwestern part of the county in

Coldwater township, where we find the Blesch farm, one of the best in the county, and

Charles Blesch, the owner, and the subject of our sketch.

Charles Blesch, whose picture we have the privilege of reproducing above, was born on

this farm 52 years ago and has lived there ever since.  Charlie specializes in Holstein cattle

and Oxford sheep.  Both are of the finest herds in Central Michigan.  These herds have taken

many prizes at Michigan State College and at many fairs.  Aside from owning and managing

320 acre farm, Charlie has found time to serve in many township and county offices.

In 1911 Charlie married Miss Ruth Stevens.  They have two fine daughters, Eleanor Jean

and Josephine.  You will travel a long ways to find a nicer farm home, a better set of farm

buildings, or a home where the latch string is always out for the Blesch’s many friends in

true Weidman country hospitality.  There are no nicer people than the Blesch family.
