The Case School: Gilmore District No. 4, as it stood when its 30-odd pupils walked there for learning. Ali Jarman gave the photo (see below) to George Skinner, along with a teacher's "Daily Register" book which was faithfully kept by various ladies teaching the Case School.

The register book which had been in the Jarman family began with the winter term of 1894, and kept a daily record of some 26 pupils ranging in age from five to 17.
Subjects taught to this motley age grouping included orthography, reading,
writing, mental arithmetic, written arithmetic, geography, grammar, U. S.
history, and physiology for a few and drawing and spelling for some.
Jessie Kidd was the teacher in 1894.
Edith Hurlburt took the teaching job for the spring term of 1894, which began May 7 and ended June 29.
She had 24 pupils, and the list of names will bring recollections of old days to
many:

Edith Hurlburt continued teaching at the Case School until the winter term of 1894, beginning Dec. 3 and ending January 25, 1895, when Edith Brewer became the teacher.
George Skinner, age 12, was among the pupils of Miss Brewer's classes, spending 124 days in school in the spring term of 1895, according to Miss Brewer's records.

Miss Brewer taught the Case School until the fall term of 1896, when Addie Youmans took on the teaching job. Miss Youmans had 39 pupils ranging in age from four years (Bula Ward) to 16 (Jennie Ransom).

Wille took the job.
Miss Willie had 42 pupils that term, aged five to 20. In the last year of
records in the book Miss Willie was still teaching the Case School (spring term,
1898). That year she had 31 pupils,
age five to 17.
